Fall TV Preview

The weather’s turning cooler, and we all know what that means: Time for the major networks to trot out their annual calvacade of fresh lambs for the slaughter. It’s pretty amazing how much the TV landscape has changed in the last few years, as cable and the internet have steadily siphoned off network TV’s viewers and reality shows have eclipsed sitcoms and dramas as the most bankable bets. The Big 4 are increasingly choosing not to take chances on original shows, with even fewer new sitcoms being trotted out this Fall than last year’s already slim crop. Which should only help to make those series that do take some creative chances stand out even more. Here, then, is our take the season’s new shows.
